This is a moving job. You will be in and out of a truck all day, loading and unloading by hand and with equipment, and back at the yard before and after every run. Firewood, tools, small equipment, hoppers, parts, signs if it needs to get somewhere, you take it there.

Job Duties:

  • You will lift, carry, and stack products, tools, and materials.
  • Your day starts early. The yard has to be loaded before crews roll out.
  • You will be told where to go and when. This seat executes; it does not set its own schedule.
  • You are responsible for checking company tools in and out.
  • You are representing multiple companies at job sites, customer homes, and supply houses.

What You'll Be Doing:
Deliveries & Pickups (8:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Pick up and deliver materials, tools, small equipment, and parts between the yard, job sites, suppliers, and customers
Deliver company products including firewood and hoppers
Run errands and supply house pickups as assigned
Post no-parking signs and public notices, documenting the placement before and after with photos.
Cost code every run to the correct company, division, or job number

Yard Work (Before 8:00 AM and After 3:00 PM)
Load crew trucks and stage material for the next day
Unload incoming deliveries by hand or with equipment
Operate forklift and telehandler to move material and equipment
Keep the yard organized, clean, and safe to move through

Tool Room:
Check tools and small equipment in and out to crews
Inspect condition on the way out and on the way back
Tag and report any damaged, missing, or unsafe tools to the Fleet Manager
Maintain accurate records so we always know where a tool is on Reftab Software

Vehicle & Equipment
Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on your vehicle
Complete daily inspections on forklift and telehandler before use
Keep your truck clean, fueled, secured, and ready
Report any vehicle or equipment issue to the Fleet Manager immediately

How the Day Works

  • 7:00 am Yard: tool check-out, load crews, stage material
  • 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM On the road: deliveries, pickups, errands, sign postings
  • After 3:00 PM: Yard tool check-in, inspection, unload, put-away
  • All run requests come through the Facility Division. Nobody dispatches you directly. Normal runs are handled first come, first served. A run moves to the front of the line only when a Superintendent or the Operations Manager calls it in as HOT, meaning a crew or job is stopped and waiting.

What We Care About

  • Show up. On time, every day, ready to work.
  • Own it. If something didn't get done or got damaged, say so the same day.
  • No excuses, no finger-pointing. Fix it or flag it.
  • Take care of the equipment. It's how everyone here makes a living.
  • Do it right the first time. A wrong address, wrong material, or wrong count costs everyone.

Requirements

  • Valid Hawaii driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Able to safely operate a non-CDL box truck or flatbed (no CDL required for this position)
  • Willing to train to upgrade to a Class 4 driver's license, with training provided by the company
  • Able to repeatedly lift 50+ lbs throughout the day
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
  • Forklift and telehandler experience preferred; training and certification provided for the right candidate
  • Basic smartphone skills for cost coding, photo documentation, and daily reporting; training provided
  • Able to read a map, follow directions, and communicate clearly by phone or text
  • Pre-employment and ongoing drug testing required
  • Must pass a background and MVR check

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in construction, trucking, landscaping, delivery, or warehouse work
  • Familiarity with Oahu roads, job sites, and supply houses
  • Basic mechanical awareness enough to recognize when a tool or truck isn't right
  • This position has a six-tier pay structure topping out at $30.00/hr. You move up a tier by hitting your metrics at your annual evaluation, not by putting in time. What we measure:
  • On-time deliveries
  • Tools accounted for, every week
  • Sign postings documented with photos, every time
  • Daily vehicle and equipment inspections completed
  • Zero preventable incidents or damage

*People who do this job well move into CDL driving, foreman roles, and fleet and facility management. If you want a place to grow, the door is open. If you want to stay right here and get good at it, that works too.

How to Apply:

Send your name, phone number, and a short summary of your work history to info@htmcontractors.com or apply here!

You do not need a formal resume. Tell us where you've worked, what you drove, what you lifted, and who we can call to verify your information.
