Join Hawaii Works, Inc. as a Civil Site Foreman and help lead government and commercial civil construction projects throughout O?ahu.

We're looking for an experienced field leader who can direct crews, coordinate operators and laborers, read plans and grades, solve field challenges, and maintain safe, productive operations.

Hawaii Works is growing and strengthening its project delivery team through better planning, clear responsibilities, strong field leadership, and higher performance standards.

This position offers defined responsibilities, leadership support, challenging projects, and an opportunity to advance into a Superintendent position.

WORK SCHEDULE

• Primarily Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

• Schedule varies based on project requirements.

• Early starts, nights, weekends, and extended hours may be required for certain projects, including highway closures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Crew Leadership & Production

• Direct daily activities for Laborers, Operators, and Leadmen.

• Communicate daily work plans and production targets.

• Execute the daily work plan developed with the Superintendent.

• Coordinate excavation, grading, underground utilities, and site work.

• Monitor progress and achieve assigned production targets.

• Organize crew assignments and maintain accountability.

• Train and develop Leadmen and crew members.

• Maintain respectful and professional communication with employees.

Field Operations & Quality Control

• Verify layout, elevations, grades, slopes, and utility locations before work begins.

• Ensure excavation, trenching, shoring, and access requirements are followed.

• Ensure work complies with plans, specifications, and quality requirements.

• Track excavation, backfill, base course, pipe, trucking, and other production quantities.

• Prevent avoidable utility strikes, rework, equipment damage, waste, and downtime.

• Maintain clean and properly maintained trucks, tools, and equipment.

Safety, Reporting & Communication

• Maintain workplace safety, environmental compliance, and jobsite organization.

• Submit accurate daily reports and employee timecards.

• Report field conflicts, differing conditions, utility concerns, and production delays promptly.

• Communicate with the Superintendent regarding manpower, equipment, materials, and operational requirements.

• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in successful project execution.

TYPES OF PROJECTS

• Excavation and grading

• Site preparation and base course installation

• Underground drainage systems

• Waterline and sewer installation

• Trenching, backfill, and compaction

• Roadway and infrastructure improvements

• Civil and structural demolition

• Utility trench restoration

• Sidewalk, curb, gutter, and site-concrete coordination

• Erosion and sediment-control installation

• Government and commercial construction projects

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum three years leading civil, excavation, grading, or utility crews as a Foreman, Working Foreman, Leadman, or equivalent.

• Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, trenching, backfill, compaction, and underground utility installation.

• Ability to read civil plans, profiles, details, specifications, and utility drawings.

• Ability to verify elevations, grades, slopes, and layout.

• Ability to organize Laborers and Operators and track daily production.

• Strong understanding of excavation, trenching, utility, and heavy-equipment safety.

• Strong communication, leadership, and jobsite organization.

• Valid Hawai?i driver's license with a clean driving abstract required.

• OSHA 30 certification or ability to complete company-paid training within 60 days.

• Excavation and Trenching Competent Person certification or ability to complete company-paid training within 60 days.

• Availability for scheduled night, weekend, and extended-hour assignments.

• Ability to meet applicable post-offer drug screening and background check requirements.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• BASE PAY: $63.17 Hourly

• Weekly pay
