Shop Runner – $25/Hrly

Join HTM Group as a Shop Runner supporting our Facility Division and daily operations across multiple companies.

This is an active, hands-on position involving deliveries, pickups, equipment handling, tool tracking, yard organization, and support for field crews.

You will spend much of your day driving between our yard, jobsites, suppliers, and customers while also loading, unloading, and organizing materials.

We're looking for a dependable individual who takes care of equipment, follows directions, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of completing assigned tasks accurately and on time.

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday–Friday, starting at 7:00 AM

Typical Daily Schedule

• 7:00 AM–8:00 AM: Yard preparation, tool check-out, crew loading, and material staging.

• 8:00 AM–3:00 PM: Deliveries, pickups, errands, supply runs, and sign postings.

• After 3:00 PM: Tool check-in, inspections, unloading, and material put-away.

All run requests are coordinated through the Facility Division. Urgent requests are prioritized when designated by the Superintendent or Operations Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliveries & Pickups

• Pick up and deliver materials, tools, small equipment, and parts between the yard, jobsites, suppliers, and customers.

• Deliver company products, including firewood and hoppers.

• Complete supply house pickups and assigned errands.

• Post no-parking signs and public notices.

• Document sign placement with photographs before and after posting.

• Assign accurate cost codes to each run based on company, division, or job number.

• Follow assigned delivery routes, schedules, and instructions.

Yard & Material Handling

• Load crew trucks and stage materials before crews depart.

• Unload incoming deliveries by hand or with equipment.

• Operate forklifts and telehandlers to move materials and equipment.

• Organize yard inventory, materials, and supplies.

• Maintain clean, safe, and accessible work areas.

• Prepare materials for upcoming crew assignments.

Tool & Equipment Control

• Check company tools and small equipment in and out to employees.

• Inspect equipment condition before issuance and upon return.

• Identify, tag, and report damaged, missing, or unsafe tools to the Fleet Manager.

• Maintain accurate tool and equipment tracking records using RefTab software.

• Assist with maintaining accountability for company tools and equipment.

Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance

• Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

• Perform daily forklift and telehandler inspections before use.

• Keep assigned vehicles clean, fueled, secured, and ready for operation.

• Report vehicle or equipment concerns promptly to the Fleet Manager.

• Follow company safety and equipment operating procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Valid Hawai?i driver's license with a clean driving record required.

• Ability to safely operate a non-CDL box truck or flatbed; CDL is not required for this position.

• Willingness to train and upgrade to a Class 4 driver's license, with company-provided training.

• Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds or more throughout the workday.

• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to use a smartphone for cost coding, photo documentation, and daily reporting; training provided.

• Ability to read maps, follow directions, and communicate clearly by phone or text.

• Willingness to complete applicable pre-employment and ongoing drug testing.

• Ability to meet applicable background and motor vehicle record screening requirements.

• Dependability, punctuality, and accountability for assigned work.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Forklift or telehandler operation; training and certification available.

• Previous experience in construction, trucking, landscaping, delivery, or warehouse operations.

• Familiarity with O?ahu roads, jobsites, and supply houses.

• Basic mechanical awareness to identify equipment or vehicle concerns.

PERFORMANCE & ADVANCEMENT

This position follows a six-tier advancement structure, with opportunities to progress from $25.00 to $30.00 per hour based on performance.

Performance measures include:

• On-time deliveries

• Accurate weekly tool accountability

• Complete photographic documentation of sign postings

• Daily vehicle and equipment inspection completion

• Prevention of avoidable incidents and equipment damage

Employees may pursue advancement opportunities into CDL driving, Foreman, Fleet, and Facility Management positions.

• STARTING PAY: $25.00 Hourly

• TOP TIER: $30.00 Hourly
